December 16, 2010

Wow, it has been a long time since I've written in this blog. I have been very busy developing and printing Nova's Featherweight Maintenance Card, Nova's Featherweight Troubleshooting Card, Nova's Featherweight Basics Card and Nova's Featherweight Attachment Card. These cards are great visual reminders for the Singer Featherweight sewing machines and have been requested by my students for years. They should be a valuable resource for all Featherweight owners and are durable enough to help the next generation as our beloved machines are passed down to our children and grandchildren.

My Featherweight Tip of the Month continues to be the most popular page on my website. Someone asked me recently if I was running out of tips to put up. I don't think I will ever run out of tips. I am constantly receiving emails from people needing help with their machine. I pull most of my tips from recent email inquiries.

I was privileged to be able to do presentations and workshops for numerous quilt guilds and organizations in 2010 and am looking forward to 2011. Hope you are keeping up with my Greetings and News page and that my site is beneficial to all.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year

Hello!

I have been busy adding my favorite notions to my website (www.novamontgomery.com). Now my friends and students can confidently shop and purchase all of the things I have tested and tried and decided I can't live without. I hope you enjoy looking, and shopping!

I have also added quite a few photos from recent classes. It is wonderful to see students who are successful and productive! Such versatility and creativity!

Don't forget to check out the Featherweight Tip of the Month for June.

Greetings! We had an excellent Weed and Feed class in Conroe on Saturday. I will be teaching a Needle Turn Applique class in Huntsville on Thursday evening.

Hello!

The Petal Pusher class participants in Huntsville were so pleased with their projects! It made for a very rewarding day!

There is a 'Weed and Feed Your Singer Featherweight 221' class scheduled for Saturday in Conroe. At this time I believe there are still several spots available in that class. Would love to see you there!

The repairs on the lovely antique chintz quilt I purchased for my presentations have gone very well. And, I have 'met' the nicest people while acquiring and working on this restoration.

The Airing of the Quilts has come and gone again! We were blessed with great weather.

I have been busy writing the pattern for Cowboy Stars. I hope to have it printable and packaged for sale through my web site (www.novamontgomery.com) soon. I have also spent a good deal of time rewriting the instructions for Winging It utilizing my method (SO much easier) of construction.

I will be returning to Cypress (Tri-County Quilt Guild) in June to teach a Winging It workshop. Nothing like deadlines to motivate! I do love teaching students how to be successful in constructing these beautiful quilts!

Nova's Posies should be available for sale through the web site soon also. It has been one of my most popular workshops.

There are two Featherweights that I have recently serviced that I hope to have photos for on the web site soon. They will be listed for sale for $600 and $550.

My Featherweight Tip of the Month has to do with attaching your walking foot and getting it to operate correctly. Take a look!

I took a great class today on applique! I believe in constantly learning and improving, so I can bring my students the very best methods available.

I also received confirmation today that I will be returning to Cypress in June to teach the 'Winging It' workshop. They loved that happy quilt (I do too!)!

Tomorrow is the Airing of the Quilts. Hoping it doesn't rain! But, the show goes on rain or shine. See you there!
